What is NinjaCard®?
NinjaCard® is a full-service digital banking platform designed for the everyday American. We offer checking and savings accounts, debit cards, lending products, payroll advance, and proprietary financial fitness services. We use an innovative approach to credit approval that focuses on more than just your credit score. NinjaCard® wants to partner with you and guide you through our financial literacy program, all while rewarding you for good financial habits. Banking services provided by Republic Bank of Chicago, Member FDIC. The NinjaCard® Visa® Debit card is issued by Republic Bank of Chicago, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. How do I request a new debit card?
How do I lock my debit card if it gets lost?
You have the ability to lock your card within online banking or through the mobile app.
Will I get ATM fees?
If you are using surcharge-free ATMs within the NYCE SUM ATM network, there will be no ATM fees. Use this ATM locator tool to find the nearest surcharge free ATM If you use an ATM outside of the NYCE SUM ATM Network, you will incur the fee that the ATM charges along with a $3 fee from NinjaCard®.
How do I activate and set the pin on my debit card?
Please call 866-392-9952 for card activation and PIN selection.
Can I add my debit card to my wallet?
Can I add my debit card as a virtual card?
Not at this time.
What hours can I call the customer support team?
You can reach out to our customer support team at 855-NINJA-42 (855-646-5242) or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. NinjaCard® Hours of Operation: 7:30AM-5:00PM Central Time, Monday-Friday. After hours support: Weekdays 5:00PM-7:30AM Central Time and 24 hours on weekends. Closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
How long will it take to open my account?
There’s no waiting period, once you complete the online account opening process, your accounts are opened.
How do I set up direct deposit?
You can contact your employer for Direct Deposit setup instructions and provide them with the following information:
- Bank Name: Republic Bank of Chicago
- Your Checking Account Number
- Routing Number: 091409746
Can I have a NinjaCard® checking account without the savings account? What about savings without checking?
You cannot have one without the other. When you sign up for NinjaCard®, you receive both a savings and a checking account.
Is there a minimum deposit to set up my checking account?
No, there is no minimum deposit amount to start your checking account.
What fees and service charges are associated with my accounts?
You will be charged a monthly account maintenance fee for your NinjaCard® Plus or Premier Checking and Savings account. You will be eligible to receive part of this fee back as a savings reward as you move through the NinjaCard® Belt System. If you have a line of credit with NinjaCard® Premier accounts, you will also be charged draw and carried balance fees when you use it. These fees will vary based on the amount you borrow.
Do you provide overdraft protection?
We do not provide overdraft protection at this time.
Is my checking account FDIC insured?
Yes, your NinjaCard® Checking account is FDIC insured insured through Republic Bank of Chicago, Member FDIC. Banking services provided by Republic Bank of Chicago, Member FDIC. The NinjaCard® Visa® Debit card is issued by Republic Bank of Chicago, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc., and may be used everywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted. How do I make a deposit?
You can make deposits for your NinjaCard® account by setting up direct deposit or external transfers within online banking or through the mobile app. Cash or check deposits at ATMs are not available.
How do I make an initial deposit for an account I just opened?
You can make deposits to your NinjaCard® account by setting up direct deposit and by setting up an external account within online banking. External transfers are not available at this time through the mobile app.
Can I open a joint account?
Joint accounts are not available at this time. Each NinjaCard® account can have one owner.
How do I transfer money into my account and from one account to the other?
You can transfer money through online banking or through the mobile app.
How do I manage my NinjaCard® accounts?
Please login to your account via the “login” button on ninjacard.com, or login through your mobile app to manage your accounts.
What are my statement options for my accounts?
Your account statements can be found under Documents in Online Banking. You may have all of your statements delivered electronically, or request a specific statement to be delivered. Electronic statements do not incur a fee. If you would like to request paper statements to be delivered monthly or request a specific paper statement, you will incur a $5 per statement fee.
Can I view my statements online?
Yes, account statements can be found under Documents in Online Banking.

What if I don’t remember my login and password for online banking?
If you have forgotten your username or password, you can use the self service reset options within the online banking or mobile login pages. If you need further assistance, reach out to our customer support team at 855-NINJA-42 (855-646-5242) or email@example.com .
How can I change my username and password?
You can change your username or password under Self Administration in Online Banking.
What are the business day cutoff times for deposits and other transactions?
5:00PM Central Time on a Business Day, Monday through Friday, except federal holidays, even if we are open. Non-Business Days are considered part of the next Business Day.
When will my funds be available?

Can I withdraw money from an ATM?
Yes, cash can be withdrawn from any ATM where the Visa® logo is accepted. ATM's outside of the NYCE SUM surcharge free network will incur ATM surcharge fees. Use this ATM locator tool to find the nearest surcharge free ATM.
Can I make a deposit at an ATM?
No, ATM deposits are not available.
How do I update information on my account or request an address change?
You can update your phone and email address information under Self Service in Online Banking. For all other changes, please reach out to our customer support team at 855-NINJA-42 (855-646-5242) or firstname.lastname@example.org .
How do I close my account?
Can I save my application and come back later?
Yes, you can save your progress and come back later. Please note your application number when opening your NinjaCard® Plus or Premier accounts to re-enter the application where you left off.
What is a stop payment fee?
A stop payment fee of $15 is assessed when you request NinjaCard® to refuse to pay an ACH transaction on your account.
What are all the fees that can be or will be charged to my accounts?
Will I get checks with my checking account?
No, you will not. You will receive a debit card and you will be able to complete transactions using it, but there will be no paper checks associated with your account.
Is there a minimum balance amount for my savings account?
No, there is no minimum balance requirement.
Is my savings account FDIC insured?

How do I get a copy of my 099-INT form?
We will mail this automatically at the end of each tax year, and you can also find it under Documents in Online Banking.
Where can I find the interest rate for the savings account?
The current interest rate for the savings account is 0.35% APY.
How is interest paid on my savings account?
Line of Credit
What is the NinjaCard® line of credit?
The NinjaCard® Line of Credit gives you access to funds through a line of credit, exactly when you need them. Plus, there’s no limit on the times you can withdraw until you reach your total credit limit. And if you don’t need it, you won’t pay for it!
How do I open a NinjaCard® account and apply for a line of credit?
Please click “Apply Now” on NinjaCard.com or the “Apply for Line of Credit” button to reach the application.
What items do I need to open a NinjaCard® account and apply for a line of credit?
You must have a tax ID number, provide state ID or license number, and if applying for a line of credit, you must live within an eligible state (AL, DE, ID, KS, UT).
What late fees will be charged to my accounts?
If you fail to make the minimum payment after the 10 day grace period following your statement due date, a late fee will be assessed of 5% of the payment due, or $25.00, whichever is less.
What is the NinjaCard® Belt System?
The Belt System is made up of 8 levels that you can work your way through in the NinjaCard® program, from white belt all the way to black belt. You progress through the system by meeting milestones such as meeting savings goals, fees and payments being paid on time, and taking our financial literacy classes.
Who is eligible to participate in the reward program or belt program?
All NinjaCard® customers are eligible for the belt program and rewards. In order to receive the savings reward, you must have a minimum of $500 in direct deposit transactions a month, and all accounts in good standing and current.
What does it mean to have my account be in “good standing”?
“Good Standing” means that you are not behind on any fees or payments, and that all payments have been made within a 10-day grace period of their due dates.
